Welcome to fieldnotesfromthefuture, the virtual world of anthropology PhD candidate Avery Delany (they/them). Avery’s thesis examines the intersections of single-player video games, artificial intelligence, and personhood and the body to explore how ideas about “what it means to be human” come to be co-constituted, negotiated and reconceptualised.
